LLU Cooper

LLU Copper

You can access the raw copper to build your own services for your end-user.
The Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) services covers access to the unbundled copper loop of POST's infrastructure allowing the operator to offer his own services to end-users. The Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) services covers mainly the following services:

  • Unbundled Metallic Path Facility Service
  • Sub-Loop Unbundling
  • Shared Access
  • Backhaul Infrastructure to access Sub-Loop Connection Points.

Service Description - Metallic Path Facility

The Metallic Path Facility (MPF) is a pair of fully metallic continuous unequipped copper wires between Post's Main Distribution Frame (MDF) at POST's Local Exchange and the Network Termination Point (NTP) at the end-user's premises, at which point the POST access network ends. At the POST's Local Exchange, the MPFs are terminated at the MDFs. The operator's access to the metallic wire pairs will be established by connecting tie cables from the MDF to the Handover Distribution Frame (HDF) located at the operator's presence in the colocation room.

Description Sub-Loop Unbundling (SLU)

These products have been developed to meet POST's obligations under the EU Regulation (EC) No. 2887/200 on unbundled access to the Local Loop referred to in Article 1.7 of the RUO, while Sub-Loop Unbundling (SLU) means the provision to an operator of the access to a partial local loop connecting the Network Termination Point (NTP) at the end-user's premises to a Sub Loop Connection Point (SLCP) in the local network. To access the Sub-Loop, the operator street cabinet should be installed in the vicinity of POST Luxembourg's SLCP. The connection between the SLCP and the operator's presence is realized through external tie cables.

Description Shared Access

Shared Access (or partial line unbundling) enable operators and POST to share the same line. End-users can acquire data services from an operator while retaining the voice services of POST. From the MDF the wires are connected to a splitter (which separates the frequencies for voice telephony and those for higher bandwidth services). The POST provides voice telephony over the lower frequency portion of the line, while another operator provides DSL services over the high frequency portion of the same line. The connection between the operator's presence in the colocation room and the MDF for the bandwidth services is done through an internal or external tie cable, depending of the colocation type offered at a specific MDF site.

Fibre Access

You can offer fibre services to your end user with this product.

The FAO (Fibre Access Offer) covers access to the unbundled fibre loop of POST's FTTH (Fibre To The Home) network allowing the operator to offer his own services to end-users.

Service Description - Fibre Access

The Fibre Access (FA) services covered by the FAO give access to the terminating segment of POST's point-to-point FTTH infrastructure. The terminating segment being the fibre link between the ODF in POST's Area POP and the Fibre Optic Network Termination Point (FO-NTP) at the customer's premises. FA services can only be delivered if there is an POST point-to-point FTTH access network in place and if there is sufficient fibre capacity available in that access network.

Description of a Fibre Access

The Fibre Access (FA) service consists in a single monomode fibre between POST's Optical Distribution Frame (ODF) at POST's area POP and the Fibre Optical Network Termination Point (FO-NTP) at the end-user site. In the area POP the optical fibres are terminated at an ODF. The connection between the operator's rack and the ODF is provided through an interconnect cabling (patches or tie cables)
